In the today challenges for health and quality of life management, the crucial point for success is represented by insights that came from the research, as the guide for better and good practice. 

Globalization put on us new and challenging issues in this field. The internationality of our Scientific Committee, witnesses for the need to share knowledge at the global level, in order to improve our practice by means of the melting of sciences and of intelligences. ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

 

The IASK 2013 Committee strongly encourages abstract submission for both oral and poster presentations. All abstracts should be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication. The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract before submission.

Annu-al Nordic Conference on Educational Research, March 7-9, 2013, in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Iceland_confThe Nordic Educational Research Association and the School of Education at the University of Iceland wish to announce that we have opened for registration and submis-sion of abstracts, posters and proposals for symposia and round-tables for the next Annu-al Nordic Conference on Educational Research which will take place on March 7-9, 2013, in Reykjavík, Iceland.

The theme of the Congress is ‘Disruptions and eruptions as opportunities for trans-forming education’, and says i.a.: “The financial and economic crises since 2008 have shocked the world and led to cut-downs in many public sectors including education.

The Nordic response was generally to protect education and other egalitarian and welfare as-pects of society from the most dramatic measures taken, but in the wake of such defen-sive actions the long-term development of education has to be reconsidered. Disruptions offer us a challenge to explore the direction of educational reforms in the light of the global reshuffling that is taking place.”

Four keynote speakers will address the conference:

Dr. Kristján Kristjánsson, University of Iceland and University of Birmingham
Dr. Kristiina Kumpulainen, University of Helsinki
Dr. Diane Reay, Cambridge University UK

Participants will have the opportunity to present papers from all fields of educational re-search, either within one of the 24 networks of NERA or in symposia and workshops/round tables especially designed for the conference.

We welcome proposals from all fields of educational research. The congress language is English. It is possible, however, to present in Scandinavian languages as well.

Deadline for submission of abstracts: November 1. 2012.

Welcome to Reykjavík in March 2013!

 

2013 ICPAFR Symposium will be held in Hamilton, New Zealand on the 29th to 31st August 2013

The Symposium will be hosted by the School of Sport and Exercise Science of the Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC). The Co-Organisers for this event will be Prof. Franco Viviani, President of ICPAFR and Dr. Glynis Longhurst of WINTEC.  The Chair of the Scientific Committee will be Dr. Peter Maulder of WINTEC.

The organising committee has opted not to change the theme of the symposium which was to be Padua, Italy during September 2012. The general symposium theme “PHYSICAL ACTIVITY ACROSS THE LIFE SPAN, WITH SPECIAL EMPHASIS ON THE DEVELOPING INFANT AND YOUNG CHILD” has been chosen due to the paucity of knowledge and understanding about the latter part of the theme. We hope to contribute to a deeper knowledge of this important area.

The Board are cordially invited to participate, both in the event and in all formal requirements of the Symposium.  Members are also requested to advertise the event as we are hoping to attract both experienced and young scientists.  Should any members have suggestions for possible sponsors, please let the organizing committee know, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  The ICPAFR Symposium 2013 website will be up and running shortly as it in the final stages of construction.

The Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi) invites you to actively participate in the 6th International Barcelona Conference on Higher Education "Let's build transformative knowledge to drive social change", May 13-15, 2013.

This edition is focused on Knowledge, Engagement & Higher Education. The Conference will provide visibility and will critically examine one of the most significant trends: the growth of the theory and practice of engagement as a key feature in the evolution of higher education.

GUNi aims to approach the challenge of engagement by higher education institutions in the larger society in an integrated manner: it will explore ways in which engagement enhances teaching, learning and research; it will approach engagement in ways that accept the multiple sites of knowledge creation, as well as the reciprocity and mutuality in learning.
